Suggested remedy
Clicking Sounds Add a few drops of BODY CYCLE lubricant to the brake system.
Unscrew half a turn all 5 Allen screws on the right "spider" crank arm. Then tighten them back completely
Tightness of the Allen screws fixing the crank arms to the bottom bracket. Tighten if necessary.
Check that the pedals are screwed in tight . Left side pedal must be tightened counterclockwise.
Check that the toe clips strap is installed correctly. Toe clip may be rubbing against crank arms.
Brake "Screams" when tension is applied Check that your shoelaces are tight and that they do not rub on the frame, belt guard or the crank arm.
The patent leather brake pad should be kept moist at all times.
Leather brake pad may be worn. Heavy treads in the leather may indicate a worn brake pad.
Flywheel may not be centered with brake pad. Always check that flywheel is centered when tightening adjustment bolts.
Un-even pedal motion Check belt tension, you may need to apply more tension on the belt.
Belt Tension Adjustment
Special attention to belt tension should be kept, a loose belt may cause slippage and/or injuries. Adjust tension on the first signs of un-even tension.
Model A
Step 1: Unscrew the flywheel shaft Allen screws (2, one on each side of the flywheel). With a pair of long nosed pliers, remove all the plastic guard lock pins (3 or 5). Remove PVC protective belt guard.
Step 2: Unscrew the locking nut attached to both stainless screws. Then slowly screw both stainless screws in. NOTE: Only a minor increase in the belt tension may be needed. Proper belt tension is achieved when belt bends 1/2 an inch when pressed with fingers.
Step 3: Check for proper flywheel alignment. The flywheel should be centered with brake pad.
Step 4: Place the PVC protective belt guard and screw the flywheel shaft Allen screws (2). Press-in all lock pins securely.

Model B - With tension adjustment template
Step 1: Unscrew the locking nut attached to both stainless screws. Then slowly screw both stainless screws in. NOTE: Only a minor increase in the belt tension may be needed . Proper belt tension is achieved when belt bends ½ an inch when pressed with fingers.
Step 2: Check for proper flywheel alignment. The flywheel should be centered with brake pad.
